Magnetic drum

Description
The SOLLAU magnetic drum separator is designed for the automatic and permanent removal of magnetic iron metals from inert materials. The permanent magnet system simplifies the separation of ferrous parts and the automatic cleaning ensures that no interruptions to production are required. At the same time the magnetic drum protects the machinery, such as shredders, mills, grinders and screw conveyors, which subsequently treat the material.
How the magnetic drum separator works
The most important part of the machine consists of an internal crescent-shaped magnetic core and an external stainless steel drum that rotates around the fixed magnetic core with an axis. The strong magnets catch and drag the ferromagnetic contaminations on the surface of the rotating stainless steel drum. The ferrous parts fall from the drum once they are beyond the magnetic core.
SOLLAU magnetic drums can be positioned at the output of a conveyor belt or beneath a funnel. Unlike the magnetic pulley, the magnetic drum is not an integral part of the conveyor belt.
